Update: St. Vrain River Bridge project.
The newly completed sections are framed and ready for roadbed spline supports being installed at the time this is written. The recently acquired custom built brass through plate girder bridge arrived from Japan to compliment the OMI 2006 run hand built brass Pratt Pin Connected Truss. Up next is Scale City Designs bridge feet among other detail parts for the utility poles and track installation on the bridge.
The brass custom hand built through plate deck bridge is a masterpiece built by a master craftsman in Japan in October for Erik. Built to exact plans used on the C&S provided by the Colorado Railroad Museum library.
The detailing of the deck and track work will be carried out by John and Jeff. Bridge ties, handlaid rail, and bolt detail awaits.
Prototype research for steel and wood combined structure.
Special thanks to Scale City Designs for their continued support of the Colorado O Scale Modelers we really appreciate you guys.
Be sure and come by at our next event and ask us about this project.
We are really excited about it!
