SW-1’s are part of the many variety of power that works up the Boulder branch and on the diagonal to Longmont from Denver. The LT&N model railroad is a historical representation of the C&S line between Boulder and Fort Collins. The SW-1’s were a favorite in the realm of motors with the crews in the 1940’s due the similarities to operating steam. Seeing this charming locomotive due it’s tasks alongside C48’s and S2’s is a continuing treat for visitors that see the LT&N when we are exhibiting. Our next exhibit willl be at the National Narrow Gauge Conventin down in Denver. Sugar beets are an obvious popular commodity moved on the LT&N along with many other small deliveries including farm machinery and goods.
